Teaching & Film

I’m a filmmaker who teaches, and a teacher who keeps making films. As a director, producer, and editor I work across documentary and narrative projects, and I’ve spent several years teaching film production at the university level.

Teaching Experience

I taught film production at New York University Abu Dhabi, guiding students from around the world through every stage of making a film — from first idea and script through production and final cut. I hold a BFA in Film and Television Production from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and an MA in Art and Public Policy, also from Tisch. [TODO: add specific courses taught, years, and any other teaching roles such as workshops, guest lectures, or community college experience.]

How I Teach

Good teaching starts with trust. I build a classroom where students can take real creative risks — where it’s safe to try something, fall short, and try again. I teach the craft rigorously while staying attentive to how each student actually learns, so they leave with stronger work and the confidence to keep making it on their own.

What Students Work On

  • Story, structure, and script development
  • Camera, lighting, and sound fundamentals
  • Directing and collaborating with a crew
  • Editing and the post-production workflow
  • The discipline of finishing — and sharing — a film

Creative Work

My own work as a director, producer, and editor informs everything I teach. [TODO: list two to four films or projects with your role, year, and a one-line description.]
